Privacy Policy

What we collect

FareChair has no accounts and no login. We do not ask for your name, address or payment details, and we never see them — those go to the marketplace you buy from, on their site. We do not use cookies.

Kept in your browser, not sent to us

For the current tab only (cleared when you close it): the city you picked on a page, and, if you pressed “Near me”, your coordinates, which the page uses to sort dates by distance; and a count of the marketplaces you have clicked. Saved until you clear your browser data: the number of tickets you last chose on an event page, any listings you saved on an event page with the bookmark button (their section, row, site and price, up to 30 per event; remove one by tapping its bookmark again), and the city you chose on the Concerts, Comedy or Theater page. None of this is transmitted to FareChair.

Location

“Use my location” and “Near me” run only when you press them. On the home page and on performer, team and league pages, if you allow it, your browser sends its coordinates directly to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service to turn them into a city name; that request comes from your browser, not from us, and OpenStreetMap’s own privacy policy applies to it. On the Concerts, Comedy and Theater pages, “Near me” matches your coordinates to the nearest city on this site inside your browser and sends them nowhere. Those three pages also make a first guess at your nearest city from the rough location that comes with your internet connection, the same information every website receives; it is not stored, and on a phone network it can be a city or two off, which is what “Near me” and the city list are for. If you deny permission, nothing is sent and you can pick or type a city instead.

Third parties

To show events and prices, our own server asks Ticketmaster, SeatGeek and TicketNetwork for event data, and asks a data service, Tickets.dev, for the listings on an event page; Tickets.dev reads the public listings of StubHub, Vivid Seats, SeatGeek, TickPick, Gametime, GoTickets and Ticketmaster. Because those requests come from our server, your browser is not identified to those companies at that stage. Three things your browser does load directly: the seat map on an event page, from Seatics (a TicketNetwork company); event and performer artwork, from Ticketmaster’s image servers; and the site’s fonts, from Google Fonts. Each of those companies can see that your browser made a request, under its own privacy policy. When you click through to a marketplace, that site’s privacy policy applies from that point on. Some of those links carry an affiliate code identifying FareChair as the referrer; it tells the marketplace where you came from, not who you are.

Hosting and logs

The site is served by Netlify. Its servers, and the small programs on them that fetch prices for a page, see your IP address and the page or data requested, and keep standard access logs for a limited period, as any web host does. We do not add anything to those logs.

What we do not do

We do not sell data. We do not run advertising or tracking scripts. We do not build profiles across visits, because there is nothing tying one visit to another.

Children

FareChair is not directed to children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone. Ticket purchases happen on the marketplaces, under their age rules.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
