FareAbout FareChair
A ticket price comparison site, built and run in Lubbock, Texas.
What it does
The same seat is often for sale on several ticket marketplaces at once, at different prices, and the only way to know which is cheapest was to open every site and compare by hand. FareChair does that in one place. Open an event and you get one seat map with the listings from StubHub, Vivid Seats, SeatGeek, TickPick, Gametime, GoTickets and Ticketmaster on it, side by side, cheapest first, with the marketplace named on every row. Tap a section and you see everything on sale in it.
What it does not do
FareChair never sells a ticket. It holds no inventory, sets no prices, adds no fees and takes no payment. When you choose a listing you go to that marketplace's own site to buy it, and that marketplace handles the payment, the delivery and any support. FareChair never sees your name, address or card.
How it makes money
Some of the links to the marketplaces are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, the marketplace may pay FareChair a referral commission. It costs you nothing extra and it never changes what you see. Commissions never affect the order of listings, and a marketplace that pays nothing is shown exactly like one that does. Every page that carries these links says so.
Where the prices come from
Prices on an event page are read live from each marketplace's public listings when you open the page, and the page says how fresh they are. The marketplaces change prices constantly, so the figure at checkout can differ from the one you saw; where a marketplace adds its fees at the last step, the row says so. FareChair never invents a price: where a site has no listing, it says that too.
Who runs it
FareChair LLC is a Texas company owned and run by Dakota Oliver in Lubbock. It is independent: not owned by, affiliated with or endorsed by any ticket marketplace, team, artist or venue. Marketplace names on the site are the trademarks of their owners and are used only to say whose listing is whose.
